Gala Games was founded in July 2019 by Eric Schiermeyer with the goal of building a blockchain gaming platform that gives players real ownership and control.
Players in the Gala ecosystem can own NFTs (non-fungible tokens) and take part in decision-making through the Founder’s Node voting system. This lets the community help decide which games Gala should create or fund. Gala also uses its own token, GALA, for transactions and rewards.
So far, Gala Games has launched the playable game Town Star and a series of NFT collectibles called VOX. Each VOX is a unique 3D avatar, and some are quite rare. In the first release, 8,888 VOX were sold for about 0.0888 ETH each.
VOX avatars can be used in Town Star and will have more functions in future games. Holders can lock GALA tokens to earn VOXcoin, animate their avatars with FBX files, and even 3D print them later on.
