Solana is a high-performance open-source project built on blockchain technology with a permissionless nature. It uses its proprietary technology to achieve an optimized balance between decentralization, transmission speed, and security, offering various decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions.
Compared to other public blockchains like Bitcoin and Ethereum, Solana integrates time and state. New blocks can only be generated after achieving full node consensus on the state. Solana's block formation combines Proof of Stake (PoS) with a clock system, so once the time reaches the set point, the next node does not need to wait for the previous one to generate the block, thus speeding up the block generation on the Solana chain.
